The filter elements for the NTZ Radial Bypass Filters type ALH and OLFS have sofar been fitted with a cardboard core on which the filtermedia is applied. These cardboard cores, which use is wide-spread with manufacturers of micro filtration elements, are highly sensitive to water contaminiation in the oil. The cardboard can lose its strenght, causing instability.
NTZ Nederland BV has recognized and solved this problem by applying a plastic core (polyamid) instead of cardboard.
This improvement leads to a filter element which remains intact, even when the water contamination of the oil surpasses 300 PPM. Because of the excellent water absorbing properties of the filter media, combined with the plastic core, the filter element can now also be used to remove high water contents (upto 1000 PPM) from oil.
Besides abovementioned improvement there is also another important advantage for the customer.
Because of the open structure of the plastic core a flow performance improvement of approximately 20% has been realized. For the user this means a life time extension of the filter element of approximately 15% in comparison with its predecessor with a cardboard core (under same conditions).
The new plastic core has been derived from the filter element NTZ manufactures for the new DSG automatic transmission of the Volkswagen Group. It is therefore a proven concept.
The ordering codes for the new “plastic core” element are :
F-09-HA
F-19-HA
F-29-HA or F-29-HB and
F-58-HA or F-58-HB.
In future also the elements for ATF and AL Housings (C09, F09, F19, F29 and F58 series) will change to the new plastic core; we will inform you later on this change.
